Kusala Projects Supporting Children in Bodhgaya, India

Celebrating Ten Years!

Elsa Primary School just celebrated its ten year anniversary!

The school was opened in 2010 in Harijan Colony, Bodhgaya and since then has expanded in various ways, for example, numbers of students and teachers have increased. For some time, students of various grades were taught in one large class room. However, at the beginning of 2019, the school was invited by parents to move to the village of Karmoni where they provided a larger building with three class rooms, a general area, office, kitchen & toilet. Also, in 2019, the students received school uniforms for the first time. The school provides daily nutrition comprising bread, eggs & milk. This supplements the students’ home diet and is much appreciated.

It is a joy to visit Elsa Primary School. The students are so happy – they love learning and they have deep respect their teachers. May the school thrive for many years to come!
